After losing his soul dog, man devotes his life to rescuing senior doggos and "unadoptable" animals, including a giant pig named 'Bikini': 'Older animals deserve a loving home in their final years'

It just takes one soul dog to change your life furever.

We think our current dog is our soul dog. She reminds us so much of ourselves that it's scary - even the bad parts. We both get grumpy when we're woken up too early from a nap, we both get overjoyed at seeing our partner return home from a long day at work, and sometimes, we are mean when we shouldn't be. We guess she got that from us. 

We don't want to think about how difficult it will be after she passes, but hopefully, we're at least 12-15 years from that happening. However, we know that life will be different. She was our first dog as adults, whom we raised all on our own. We held her when she was only 9-weeks-old, like a fluffy potato more than a puppy, and we will hold her on her very last day with the same love and care.

A dog that you truly bond with can open your eyes to the pain of all animals. Especially as they get older, you start to feel bad for all the elderly dogs who are sitting in shelters, just waiting for someone to pick them first. Well, that's what Steve Greig did, and the world is a kinder place because of it.

After losing his own soul dog, Wolfgang, he devoted his life to rescuing all the senior and "unadoptable" animals who deserved a good quality of life in their final days.
